E Visas for Traders (E-1) and Investors (E-2)

Treaty Trader and Treaty Investor visas are available to certain individuals and companies from countries that maintain treaties of friendship and commerce with the U.S., (“Treaty Countries”) including Ireland and UK.  Nationals of Treaty Countries or companies which are majority owned by such nationals may be eligible for E-1 Treaty Trader visas if they have sufficient trade with the U.S.;  and E-2 Treaty Investor visas where they have invested substantially in setting up business in the U.S.  For a list of eligible countries visit the U.S. State Department website. The principal trader or investor and executive, managerial and essential skills workers who share the nationality of the treaty trader or investor may be eligible for E visas. Treaty visas have many advantages. Sign up to our newsletter and download our eGuide for more details.

Our group currently owns 4 bar/restaurants in New York with a fifth on the way. Only for Deirdre O’Brien the story could have been very different. While in the process of opening our first bar seven years ago we experienced some visa issues while working with another attorney. We turned to Deirdre at the last moment and she was able to turn around a very bad situation. Since then we have worked with O’Brien and Associates on a regular basis as we continue to grow and they have successfully guided us through the E visa process for several of our key investors and management. We are grateful to have built such a great partnership with Deirdre and would recommend that any small business looking to grow in the US do the same.””
